Like the twists and turns of a kaleidoscope, our lives also twist and turn. Sometimes we like what we see, and other times, not as much. Whatever turns your life has taken, I strive to provide compassionate counseling services for individuals (16 & up) and couples in need.
My focus is to help you gain knowledge and wisdom, heal, and become aware of your inner strengths. We achieve this by providing a neutral and safe space for you to express your concerns, and together, we explore the life events and inner struggles which are holding you back from living the life you want to live.
I have training in many approaches such as: CBT (cognitive behavioral therapy), DBT (Dialectical Behavioral Therapy), Brainspotting (which is great for trauma work or things that are blocking you from moving forward), EFT (Emotionally Focused Therapy), and others. The goal is to help you grow from your struggles, heal from your pain, and move forward to where you want to be in your life.

You need to know your BEHAVIORAL HEALTH insurance provider, which could be different from your medical insurance provider. Ex: you may have Aetna for medical, but Optum for behavioral health. (This is called a behavioral health carve out plan and is not always obvious.) Look closely at your card, or call the number on your insurance card to see what plan you have.
You can use your insurance, EAP, or HSA/FSA account, or cash pay.

Large hospital groups and large counseling groups are able to charge your insurance company a MUCH higher rate, and they pass that onto you -especially if you are on a high deductible plan! (This could be as much as a $400 difference!) As a small business, your cost at Kaleidoscope Counseling could be much less. That said, individual costs will vary based on your specific insurance plan, as your plan will determine the amount you will owe based upon rates they agree to pay individual therapists. If you decide to pay privately, we can discuss this fee before your first visit.
A typical counseling session at Kaleidoscope Counseling, LLC lasts for 55 minutes, although some sessions may be longer or shorter depending on your needs, preferences, EAP, and insurance requirements.
I can help you address a wide range of issues, including: anxiety, depression, relationship problems, LGBTQ+, grief and loss, trauma, and more. Unfortunately, I am not able to help with personality disorders, severe suicidality, Dissociative Identity Disorder, schizophrenia, psychosis, significant eating disorders, or severe addiction issues.
Depression & Anxiety counseling services can help you overcome feelings of sadness, hopelessness, fatigue, fear, stress, worry, and/or anxiety. As an experienced therapist, I can provide a supportive and non-judgmental environment where you can explore your thoughts and feelings, gain insights into your behavior, and develop strategies to manage your depression.
I provide a safe and supportive environment where LGBTQ+ individuals can explore their metal health struggles, trauma, sexual orientation, or gender identity without fear of judgment. I create a warm, welcoming space where you can share your feelings and experiences without fear of rejection. I listen without judgment, and offer validation and support for your unique journey.
Trauma counseling services can help you overcome the effects of traumatic events, no matter how "big" or "small". I use evidence-based techniques to help you heal from the psychological impact of trauma, including: PTSD, anxiety, and depression in a safe and supportive environment where you can explore and process through your experiences while discovering coping skills to manage triggers and to move forward.
When you are grieving a loss, my office is a safe, supportive environment where you can express your feelings and work through your grief in your own way, and in your own time. I will help you understand your unique grieving process and find healthy coping strategies to get you through this difficult time.
In couples therapy, I help couples identify the root causes of their relationship problems, and then develop healthy communication and conflict-resolution skills to address those issues. Through this process, couples can learn to resolve their conflicts in a constructive manner, which can lead to a more satisfying and fulfilling relationship.
